This second work by Rav Mattitiahou Salomon makes us discover again the teachings of one of the great current masters of Judaism. Its numerous conferences provided around the world have captured and stimulated many people, transported by its scholarship, its sensitivity and its exceptional way of interpreting current events and to resolve serious timeless questions. However, its great renown far exceeds the limits of Yéchiva and thousands of people around the world are constantly drinking at this Torah well. Rav Salomon, for his part, feels an equally ardent desire to help his next and teach them the wonderful precepts of our divine law. When asked how he manages to find time to prepare his conferences when he never has a minute for himself, he smiles and, of his modest air, he replies "I myselfPreparing for thirty years. This is a very fair remark, because his conferences undoubtedly testify to a life of reflection and wisdom. In this collection of essays, Rav Salomon tackles twenty subjects at the heart of the Jewish aspiration for spiritual and personal development, such as the relationship between faith and efforts provided, unanswered prayers, the diffusion of the Torah, the implications of the World Trade Center attack and the place of Jerusalem. Reading these teachings, a person with intelligence and receptivity will not fail to be deeply touched and exalted. The conferences gathered in this work were compiled and adapted to the publication by Rav Yossef Reinman, a remarkable scholar, close to Rav Salomon. Thanks to his talent as a writer, he manages to share with us the emotions of the Machguia’h and to transmit to us, for our greatest benefit, his teachingsprecious and imperishable.
