Born in 1892, and great grandson of Rav Israel Salanter, the child who will become Rav Eliahou Eliézer Drawing grows in a very special religious environment: Kelm Judaism (Lithuania). Educated according to the demanding ethical of Moussar- where respect for others is combined with the rigorous observance of the Torah- The arrival of the Nazi armies forced rav to flee the European continent to take refuge in Great Britain. Simple rabbi in the city of Chesham, he received in the summer of 1941 a letter inviting him to participate in the creation of a Collel, an almost surreal idea because England undergoes the deprivation of war, while in Europe, the Holocaust is set up. It is in this context of the darkest that Rav Draw decides to found, with three students, the Collel de Gateshead. Animated by a foolproof faith, Rav Draw must for this overcome the reluctance of the official establishment, then seek one by one his futurestudents and fight to ensure daily operation. Twenty years later, when the Gates Coll has become the prestigious institution that we know, it is from Israel that we call on him. Pressed to become the spiritual supervisor of the Yéchivat de Poniewicz, Rav Draw Essurera with dedication to his mission until his last day.
